STORY

THE ACTOR’S APOTHECARY IS A COMMUNAL HUB FOR ACTORS AND PERFORMERS.

TAA was born out of a desire to rekindle the local acting community after the 2020 pandemic left most of us longing for a creative outlet. When live auditions transitioned to tape only, Chelsea and Sylvia found themselves making the best of what was offered to them. They made the accidental discovery that reading and getting to play with other actors can be just as invigorating as a live audition. Together they created a space to play, laugh, and support one another’s goals in an otherwise bleak time. Through the support of each other and their loved ones, they decided to take the leap and extend this source of joy to the rest of their community that they hold dear.

The Actor’s Apothecary is founded on friendship, community, inclusion, love, and support. We want nothing more than to see every performer that walks through our doors succeed and thrive.

CHELSEA BRYAN

Chelsea is originally from down the bayou where cajun stereotypes may or may not be perpetuated on a daily basis. After a beer or two, Chelsea may perpetuate a few herself.

She attended NSU for pre-law and creative writing, Delgado Community College for Theater, and UNO for Film. She did not graduate from any due to severe undiagnosed ADHD and an intense desire to acquire as much student loan debt as possible.

2007 was a great year for teen pregnancies with the release of “Juno” and the hit MTV show “16 and pregnant”. Never one to miss a trend, Chelsea got knocked up at the age of 19. After the birth of her first heir, she and the child moved to New Orleans where she met her now-husband, Andrew. They did it like they do on the discovery channel and now have their “spare”.

In 2019 Chelsea made her directorial debut in her web pilot, Mother Hustlers, in which she also wrote and acted about the mishaps of being a mom in the entertainment industry and in doing so was able to give her toddler son his debut in the acting world by covering him in literal fake feces. Seems like a metaphor for something…

Chelsea produced the horror/comedy podcast, Where the Hell Am I? Hosting and Co-producing with her fellow TAA owner. We currently have one episode out and you can catch a new episode every 12 - 24 months.

All of this has been a lie. Chelsea is actually a 45-year-old British man from South Wales who enjoys horseback riding and playing crocket with his 3 sons and cocker spaniel, George.

SYLVIA GRACE CRIM

Sylvia Grace Crim. She will respond to all three names. Sylvia grew up in Missouri and took her midwest morals to New York City as a teenager. There she attended The New York Conservatory of Dramatic Arts and learned how to work the dirty streets of the big apple…Sylvia moved to New Orleans in 2012 when the film industry dubbed Louisiana, “Hollywood South”.

Over the past 10 years, Sylvia has cried in a number of bathroom stalls during her late-night bar shifts. In addition to her film and television credits, which you can find on IMDB, Sylvia produced and co-starred in a series pilot, “Mother Hustlers” which premiered at the L.A. Dances With Films Festival in 2019. This was also the first collaborative project with Chelsea Bryan.

In between jobs, SGC is an avid Salsa dancer and scuba diver. She keeps her creative self spry by writing and performing her own one-woman sketches. To get a better look at her character work, follow Sylvia on Instagram @sgcrim.  She would also like the readers to know, if you have ever been a witness of her road rage, not to take it personally, she just likes to go fast.
