Class 1 - MEISNER
AUGUST 23RD
In this three-hour workshop we will cover the basics of the Meisner technique as taught by Sanford Meisner. We will us a live video feed working on-camera. Inner monologues, active listening, relaxation techniques, Meisner literature, and on-camera application will be the focus of this class.
Instructor Kerry Cahill is an accomplished actress who brings training and real-world experience to Meisner basics.

Class 2 - Gun Safety & Stunts
AUGUST 30TH
Wanna Fight? Stunts, Gun Safety & Protocol, and The Basics of Fight Choreography: For Stage & Film.
We will go over protocols for gun safety on set, in theater, as well as other basic firearm safety lessons. We will teach and practice on-camera fight choreography. We will also discuss what we can do off-camera to prepare for roles that include stunts and firearms.

Class 3 - Suzuki Body & Vocal Work
SEPT. 6TH
Get In Your Body: Suzuki, Voice, and Physical Technique. Your Body Is Your Instrument.
We will teach the Japanese Theater Technique Suzuki, vocal warmup techniques, and technical skills to work with your voice and body. Giving you a foundation to stand on as demands for screaming, high-intensity scenes, and long hours on set take their toll.

Class 4 - The business side of acting

That’s Show Biz Baby!
How to get a job, avoid scams, and grow your career while having a life much should my manager get? How do I get an agent? Does my social media following matter? How do I get in the door, stay in the room, and more? What is the future of the industry? In the U.S., in Louisiana? What should I post on Instagram? Do I need a brand? What even is a Brand? There are no hard and fast rules for the ever-changing landscape of film, tv, and theater but this three-hour workshop will include advice from industry professionals, basics about starting out, and tips for growing an already active career.

Class 5 - On Camera From Stage to Film and Back
SEPT 20TH
In this three-hour workshop, we will cover the technical differences between stage and film work, visual vs performing arts, and simple techniques to assist in adjusting your approach. Whether you are a film actor craving the stage or a theater actor who has been constantly told you are "too big", this workshop will clarify the needs of both art forms.
Instructor: Kerry Cahill is an accomplished theater actor, winning multiple Big Easy Awards and holding a Bachelor's in Drama. She also boasts a twenty-year film career that includes projects such as The Walking Dead, The Thing About Pam, and most recently Matlock, with Kathy Bates.

Class 6 - What do you bring with you?
In this class we will cover multiple topics. We will start with a mock audition, taped, and watch them in class. We will also dive into the intersection of activism and art, how participating in storytelling empowers you and the audience. We will also discuss the nitty gritty of hierarchy in film and theater, how it works, and how we can change it.

September Actors' Alliance Collaborative Scene Study

September 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th
Sign up with a partner or get paired upon arrival based on your skill level.
The class will be led by TAA co-owners Chelsea Bryan and Sylvia Grace Crim, but we will still keep this a collaborative study and strongly encourage each student to participate. We will have guest teachers and auditors throughout the course.
We will work on the same scene throughout the course, building and enhancing each week.
We will film the last class with a professional cinematographer and lighting. You will be sent your footage after the class to use as you wish; Actors Access, IG, pitch packages, etc.

Improv 101
Level One Improv with Two Friends Improv Theater!
Our improv classes are designed for students of all levels! Whether you have years of performance experience under your belt – or you’re brand-new to this whole thing – our longform improv program will teach you the skills and techniques to develop your voice, style and unique form of self-expression. You will be introduced to the introductory improv skills: trust, agreement, give and take, and group mind in a safe and positive space. We are committed to creating an inclusive, welcoming environment where students can learn and practice the art of improvisation. Improv is for everyone!
